Good morning!

Today is the feast of St George, Patron of England. Info and video below from Catholic.org.

Today I will be keeping a candle burning for your intentions once again and will remember you all at Mass when I go online later.

I just wanted to let you know that tonight and every Thursday evening from 7-8pm I’ve been holding a Holy Hour before the Lord at home. If you are free during this time from 7-8pm, Eucharistic Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is readily available in these days as the Churches are currently closed.  Even if you can only spend a few minutes, you are welcome to offer your own prayers and thoughts as we come together spiritually in community from 7-8pm in our own homes and pray and seek the Lord’s guidance, support and strength for our own locality, Nation and World during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Simply look up “Eucharistic Adoration online” in your web browser.  Some of you may already be praying more online and have found sites that you like.  I would like to recommend to you Savior.org.,the Benedictine Sisters at Tyburn Convent in London and the Catholic Shrine of Walsingham, Norfolk. Adoration here I think is from 8.30pm each evening – check their website.

Here is also a link to the Liturgy Office webpage with special prayers we can use during this time of uncertainty and shadow.

Eastertide Weekly tip for the 2nd Week!

Plant some seeds as a symbol of the new life of Easter!

Traditionally, the following greetings are used throughout Eastertide:

‘Alleluia!’ (Praise the Lord) and

‘This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!’ Psalm 119:24

 Our prayers today:

Loving God,

We thank You for the gift of a new day and for safely bringing us to the beginning of it. We offer You all that we are and all that we have, to be guided by Your Will.  Thank You for the opportunities to serve You in those we will meet today.  Help us to act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with You, our God. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
