Police presence – 23/01/19 This morning we had an unauthorised person on site. Our practices and policies have worked and the pupils and staff are safe. Staff were out on duty and supervising the pupils in the sports hall. A man was challenged walking across our school field. He then exited the site over the fence into Alders close. The police have just informed me that he has yet to be apprehended but is not a threat to our site and is not a threat as an individual. Be reassured that all pupils and staff are safe and school routine will continue as normal. Mr Lloyd Roberts – Principal

Exciting news!! St Bede’s has been awarded the prestigious National Centre of Excellence Award from GL Assessment. You will notice this logo which will now be featured on our website. This demonstrates how St Bede’s are driving assessment forward within school and across the country. GL Assessment is a nationally recognised company whose assessments are widely used across the UK, and their assessments give us an accurate picture of how our pupils are comparing to national standards. This also further backs up our impressive SATs data where we performed above National standards for the first time last year. St Bede’s were selected for this case study due to the way in which we manage the systems, use the data to get the best out of pupils and our outstanding exit data by year 8 pupils. Last year, year 8 pupils’ exited with 89% of pupils at National Standard in English, when they arrived in year 5 this figure was only 30%. In maths there was a similar success story with 32% entering St Bede’s at National expectation and 85% leaving at National Expectation.
