Catholic Life family activity: Making a special birthday cake for the Church. Celebrating Pentecost 2020 in St Bede’s.

 Hello everyone,

One fantastic idea I have recently heard about to celebrate Pentecost in a brilliant way is this fun activity you can get involved with!

On Sunday 31st May it will be the great feast of Pentecost.  It is when we remember that approximately 10 days after the Ascension of Jesus into Heaven when He returned to His Father, He sent the promised Gift of the Holy Spirit to be with us forever.  It is also known as the ‘Birthday of the Church.’

If you’d like to make a special birthday cake at home to celebrate the Church’s Birthday and the wonderful feast of Pentecost.

What sort of things might your cake include? Where will your imagination take you?

You can use any colours you like and perhaps decorate it with symbols of the Holy Spirit and Pentecost flames.

Maybe you can do some research as to what symbols there are of the Holy Spirit, what they mean and get creative!

You can decorate it any way you like and then take a photo and email this into the School Office.

 Happy baking!
