On Friday, Year 8 pupils were involved in a Careers Day, with people from lots of different professions coming into school. In the morning, each class spent 20 minutes with someone from a different area of work. They learnt about the journeys the individuals have gone through to get to where they are today. The asked many insightful questions about the different roles and thoroughly enjoyed the day. They then followed this by researching the career they want to follow when they leave school. The children looked at the qualifications required for their chosen career, the starting salary they could expect to earn and what the job entails. In the afternoon, Year 8 pupils gathered to listen to Nuno Ferreira discuss his role as a Project Manager Officer.

We would like to thank everyone who came in to help with the day. Thanks to Nuno Ferreira-Project Manager Office, Jeff Douglas-Engineer, Emma Clarke-Class Catering, Nicki Smith-NHS Nurse, representatives from Redditch Fire Department, the police and PCSOs.

It was a highly successful day and we look forward to hosting another Careers Day in the future. If you would like to be involved in future Career Days, please let Mr Evans know.
