Dear Parents and Carers,
I do hope you’re all keeping well and are managing during these difficult times. I’m sure many of you have enjoyed visiting the shops that have reopened and i’m sure a few more of you are looking forward to the other restrictions that are being lifted this weekend…
I just wanted to update you briefly about our plans moving forward.
Following the Government’s announcement yesterday, the Senior Leadership Team are currently working on plans for how school will look in September. As I am sure you can appreciate, the guidance is vast and there is lots to consider. However, please be rest assured that as soon as we have a plan, we will communicate it to you straight away, as we have throughout the crisis, to ensure that you, as parents and carers, have enough time to prepare for September.
It will be a very different start to any academic year that has gone before but we will be doing everything we can to;
1) Ensure we continue to have a broad and balanced curriculum;
2) Have a school day that resembles a normal school day as much as possible;
3) Have pupil wellbeing and emotional support at the heart of everything we do, as well as ensuring pupils remain academically focused and challenged.
One thing I can confirm is that St Bede’s will not be open during the Summer holiday. Therefore the last day of term for Key Workers and Year 6 will be Friday 17th July. Pupils and staff have worked incredibly hard over the past 4 months so deserve a well earned rest.
I hope to speak to you all again either at the end of next week or the beginning of the final week of term to update you on the plans.
In the meantime, if you have any concerns, questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact the school office, either by phone or email, and they will direct your call accordingly.
Stay safe, take care and God bless,
Head of School
Specialist Leader of Education (SLE)
