Dear Parents and Carers,

It’s been lovely this week to welcome Year 6 pupils back into school. Monday was an emotional day as it felt as it was the first steps towards some kind of normality. Thanks to all parents and carers for their support in helping to ensure that our plans have been a success. There were many sleepless nights from the Senior Leadership Team hoping that the plans would pan out as we hoped! A massive thanks to all pupils too. Their positivity and friendliness as helped to lift everyone’s spirits. This week, Year 6 focussed on Wellbeing to get them back into the routine after nearly 3 months away from school site. Next week, academic sessions begin! Teachers are ready and raring to go!

I would like to say a massive thank-you to all staff at St Bede’s. Everyone has pulled together to ensure that we continue to offer the highest quality provision that we can during these challenging time. I am personally so proud of each and every member of the team.

You may have seen the announcement this week that no other year groups will be welcomed back to schools prior to September. We are sad that we will not get to say our farewells to Year 8 but we will ensure that we get all Year 8 pupils back for a celebration when normality resumes. Mrs Wintle has been working hard with all the high schools to ensure a smooth transition.

We are also sad that we are unable to welcome Year 4 to school to get them acclimatised to St Bede’s prior to September. However, I know that there are a number of videos and documents that have been sent out to parents, carers and pupils so they can have as much of a “virtual” transition as possible. Mrs Melsom is working hard to ensure that they have a smooth welcome in September.

We are still unsure as to what September will look like but I am working with Mr Roberts, as Chief Accounting Officer, the Directors and other MAC Heads to plan out several different ways in what September could look like. We will be sending out more information as soon as we have it. We will also be sending out some information next week with regards to uniform in September to;

1) ensure that we stick to the government guidelines;

2) make it easier for parents and carers in terms of obtaining uniform;

3) continue to uphold our high standards.

Have a great weekend!

Take care, stay safe and God bless,
