Good morning all!
There is so much happening in our spiritual lift today!
We honour the Sacred Heart of Jesus today as it is the First Friday of the month. Jesus’ Heart of love reminds us of God’s unfailing and all encompassing love for every member of the human family on earth.
Month of May:
It is also the Month of Our Blessed Lady, Mary the Mother of Jesus and our spiritual Mother also. It is traditional to pray the Rosary (Mary’s Rose Garden) during this Month. We honour her in this special prayer because it leads us always to Jesus and strengthens our worship and adoration of God to whom all praise and glory is due.
Today’s Rosary Mysteries:
Today, because it’s Friday, we are encouraged to pray the Sorrowful Mysteries as we contemplate Our Lord’s Passion and Death.
For every day this month, I will include one of the many Titles of Our Lady taken from the Litany of Loreto and ask her motherly prayers for us and the world as we continue in our own personal exiles in lockdown!
Today’s Title of Our Lady:
Mother of Christ, Pray for us.
Here is the entire Litany of Loreto prayer here.
Friday 1st May is also the feast of St Joseph the Worker here is a video and some information from Catholic.org
The Gospel Reading of the Week is: Luke 24:13-35.
The journey to Emmaus; “And the disciples told what had happened on the road, and how He (Jesus) had been made known to them in the breaking of the bread.” Lk 24:35
Once again today I will be keeping a candle burning for your intentions and will remember you all at Mass today.

Our scripture reading today comes from the Book of Psalms: Psalm 117 is the shortest Psalm with only two verses, yet it is one filled with God’s praises. Today, let us praise and thank our Loving God for all His blessings to us!
“Praise the Lord, all you Nations! Extol Him, all you Peoples! For great is His steadfast love towards us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures for ever. Praise the Lord!” Psalm 117
Blessings to you all on this day.
