11 Jul 2019

12 July 2019

Welcome to this 23rd update for the St Bede’s Mini Vinnies group.

Grateful thanks to all who have begun to bring in toiletries and bottled water for our brothers and sisters in need.  We are still hoping for donations, however small and in particular men’s toiletries including shaving foam and shower gels. Here is a reminder of the items, which will be gratefully received and much appreciated by the SVP.

Any donations of the following items:

  • Small Bottled water or 500/600ml sized bottles
  • Male and female deodorants – sprays and roll-ons
  • Male shower gel and shaving foam
  • Sunscreen/lotion/sunblock/ – cream or sprays
  • Wetwipes/Baby wipes/moist tissues

Donated water, sunscreen/lotion and deodorants can be brought into school and handed in either to Reception and placed in the red collection box or passed on directly to Miss Downes.  The closing date this term for items to be received here in school next week will be Wednesday, 17 July 2019.  May the Lord bless you for your kindness and generosity to those in most need in our locality.

“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of Mine, you did it for Me.” Jesus.  Matthew 25:40

Today has been the final time this academic Year that the Mini Vinnies made the sandwiches at lunchtime for the homeless before we break up for the Summer.  We look forward to next Academic Year when we shall be recruiting new Mini Vinnies from Year 7.  We also look forward to continuing our much needed outreach work to help the Soup Kitchen run in Birmingham City Centre providing nutritious food for those in most need on the 2nd Friday and 4th Tuesday of each month.

Thanks so much for all the practical and spiritual support that you provide for the Mini Vinnies to continue their sterling work and service in our local community. Please continue to pray for the group as we keep going in the Lord’s service supporting our brothers and sisters in need.

Please pray for all who faithfully support and run the SVP Soup Kitchen in the City of Birmingham and those who are in most need who come and use this vital outreach service.

You can check out the latest updates also on our school Twitter Feed on @StBedesMiddle and @BedesRE.   More updates to follow.   Keep reading and pray for us as we continue to live our lives being Intentional and Prophetic Mini Vinnies!
