Hello and welcome to this 5th Mini Vinnies Update which shares with you our work and activities as Mini Vinnies and members of the St Vincent de Paul Society here in St Bede’s School.
This week, we made the sandwiches once again for the soup kitchen in Birmingham and it was great to welcome most of our new Mini Vinnie members to this important outreach work and activities here in school. Once again, four boxes of delicious sandwiches were made ready for the soup kitchen on Tuesday evening and these were gratefully received by the SVP. As before, pupils in Food Tech have been busily making lots of bags of breadsticks which were also included with the sandwiches. Later, these will be given out when the soup kitchen and outreach in Birmingham City Centre takes place. After Half Term, we shall begin collecting for the toiletries appeal as we prepare to further support our needy brothers and sisters on the streets as the weather begins to get colder and more inclement.
You can check out the latest updates also on our school Twitter Feed on @StBedesMiddle and @BedesRE.
More exciting updates to follow. Keep reading and pray for us as we continue to be Attentive towards all especially those less fortunate than ourselves and Discerning in the way we choose to live out our own faith and special call from God to be serving Mini Vinnies. We seek to continue our service and work here in St Bede’s by making good choices and living out our positive actions as we strive to become ever Grateful and Generous Mini Vinnies!
