Hello everyone, good morning and I hope that you have had a good week.

As we approach the weekend once more, may the Lord in His love bless you and your families as you spend some quality time together. May He keep you safe and well.  Have a refreshing couple of days.

Welcome to Friday’s Spiritual Lift.  May it bless and encourage you today as you read and reflect.

For the final time this week, our Scripture comes from the Book of the Prophet Zechariah. (Zech 8:8) These verses are taken from the CTS New Catholic Bible

“The LORD of hosts says this, ‘I will bring them (my people) back to live inside Jerusalem.  They shall be my people and I will be their God in faithfulness and integrity.’ “

October – the Month of the Holy Rosary and Our Blessed Lady:  We begin a new month today!  It is also CAFOD Family Fast Day today.

Here is this year’s special prayer:

Family Fast Day prayer – Harvest 2021 | CAFOD

During this month of October we focus upon the Holy Rosary.  We are encouraged to think about Our Lady as we dedicate this month to Her as Queen of the Holy Rosary.  On 7th October we will remember the special Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. This month is a beautiful way to offer our prayers to Our Blessed Lady and say Her special prayer, which is the dearest to Her heart, the Rosary.

If we haven’t prayed the Rosary in a while, now might be the best time to begin this lovely devotion once again. During this special month, let’s make a special effort to dust off the Rosary beads and begin praying this beautiful prayer.

Our Rosary Mysteries today are the Sorrowful Mysteries.

In these five Mysteries, we remember the love of God shown so powerfully in the life of the Son of God, Jesus Christ our Saviour, through His sufferings, Death, Resurrection and Ascension into Heaven.  In all that is difficult and what makes us sad today, let us offer all our prayers to Our Blessed Mother in Heaven and she will take them to Jesus her Divine Son for Him to answer as He wills.

Today we remember Saint Therese of Lisieux, the Little Flower of Jesus.  Here is some more information about her from www.catholic.org.
