Good morning everyone, I hope that your week has gone well for you.

As we approach the weekend once more, may the Lord in His love keep you safe and well and may you have a relaxed and restful one.

Welcome to Friday’s Spiritual Lift.

Today we remember St Vincent Saragossa, Deacon and Martyr. He was martyred in Valencia, Spain under the persecution of Dacian, the Governor of Spain.  A very happy feast-day to anyone who is Spanish or who have Spanish ancestry.  May the prayers of Saint Vincent of Saragossa go with you today.

Here is some information about him from CatholicSaints.Info

Octave Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.

I will be including every day this week the link I sent out on Monday for the Prayer for Christian Unity Week of reflections, prayers and resources too. This year’s Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2021 –“Abiding in Christ” is the theme of this year’s Week.  The resources and information come from the Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI)

Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2021 (

This special week is inspired by the prayer of Jesus Himself as He prayed on the night before His suffering and Death.  (John 17:20, 21.)  The highlighted words remind us that we have received faith from others in the faith going way back to the first Disciples and followers of Jesus and the Lord’s prayer that we as believers in Him we may all be united in one heart and purpose.

Jesus prayed, “I ask not only on behalf of these, but also, on behalf of those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one.  As you, Father, are in me and I am in you, may they also be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.” John 17:20,21

Links for live streamed Holy Mass online: (Weekend/Sunday Mass):

In these days of lockdown, most Catholic and other Denomination Christian Churches remain open for public worship and private individual prayer, but there may be some that are temporarily closed, particularly in areas of increased COVID infection rates or if Clergy are unavailable to say Mass in person.  Additionally, some folks may be choosing to shield again, remaining at home to worship instead and access digital Church online.

We are blessed in these days to have the gift of the Internet and online worship which can still be accessed at any time.  To help support and nourish your faith in these days, every Friday, starting this week, I will be including some links for you to search for Holy Mass online where you will be able to access Mass in English, Polish and Malayalam.

May the Patron of the Internet, Saint Isidore of Seville, Saint Clare, Patron of all things televisual and Saint Gabriel the Archangel, Patron of Communications and Messages pray for us.

Weekly Scripture Verse:

Our scripture verse for us to ponder and pray for this week comes from the Book of the Psalms (Psalm 32:7) This verse is taken from the New Revised Standard Version of the Scriptures (NRSV) Catholic Edition.  Let us give thanks to the Lord for the precious gift of His Word, the Bible.  May it guide and strengthen us in these days. Be encouraged as our God speaks to us. May these words help us as we begin another week in lockdown.

“You are a hiding place for me, you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with glad cries of deliverance.”

Month of January.

During the month of January, we focus on the Holy Childhood of Jesus and the Names and Titles of Jesus.

During this month we can offer special prayers to the Infant Jesus.  It is one of the mysteries of our faith that our powerful and eternal God chose to be born as a Man for us here on earth and Jesus was found in human form as a little baby who had to grow as the years went by, just as we do.

He became like us in all things except sin.  As an infant, Jesus was little, helpless and weak for He wanted to be with us as He is our Immanuel, God-With-Us.  Whatever we face today and going forward into this New Year, Jesus is with and walks beside us, sometimes carrying us gently in His loving arms when we are unable to stand.

Our prayer this month:

To the Divine Infant of Prague, Our Lord Jesus.  Please see the link below.
