Good morning everyone, hello and I hope you are well and that your week has gone well for you too.

As we approach the weekend once more, may the Lord in His love give you and your families a restful and relaxing couple of days.

Welcome to Friday’s Spiritual Lift. May it inspire and encourage you today.

Here is our Scripture for this week, once more, which comes from Saint Matthew’s Gospel. (Matt. 11:28-30) Our verses this week come from the CTS New Catholic Bible. They are some very special words from Jesus to us today.

“Come to me, all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest.  Shoulder my yoke and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  Yes, my yoke is easy and my burden light.”

In the traditional Roman Calendar of Saints today we remember Saint Bridget or Brigitta of Sweden. Here is some information about her from www.catholic.org.

October – the Month of the Holy Rosary and Our Blessed Lady:

During this month of October we focus upon the Holy Rosary.  We are encouraged to think about Our Lady as we dedicate this month to Her as Queen of the Holy Rosary. This month is a beautiful way to offer our prayers to Our Blessed Lady and say Her special prayer, which is the one dearest to Her heart, the Rosary.

During this special month, let’s make a special effort to pick up our Rosary beads again and begin praying this beautiful prayer.

Our Rosary Mysteries today are the Sorrowful Mysteries.

Today we focus our attention on the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary.  Friday is traditionally the day when we especially remember the sufferings and Death of Our Lord Jesus. May we offer all that is sorrowful in our lives today to Our Blessed Mother who will pray for us and offer them to Jesus.
