Hello everyone, good morning to you!

Hope you had a lovely restful and refreshing weekend and are now ready to meet this new week with all its challenges, surprises and blessings!

Here is our Scripture Reading for this week for your inspiration and encouragement to start off our new week in the right way. We give thanks to the Lord of the gift of His word to us today, and for this week. It comes from Psalm 118 (119):105. CTS New Catholic Bible Version.

“Your word is a lamp for my steps and a light for my path.”

Welcome to Monday’s Spiritual Lift for today.

We continue to honour Our Lord’s Sacred Heart as we journey through the Month of June.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus.

This Divine Heart, full of love and mercy, is the ultimate expression of God’s love for all people.  Jesus’ Heart is represented with His Heart pierced, as it was when He died on the cross, the soldier used his spear to check that Jesus had died. It is surrounded by a Crown of Thorns which reminds us of Jesus’ suffering and death and our wrongdoing which wounds the Heart of God when we choose to go our own ways rather than God’s.  It has burning flames coming from it which reminds us that God’s Heart burns with deepest, tenderest love for every person and it also the fire of His Holy Spirit.  At the top of the Heart, there is a Cross, which reminds us that the cross is at the heart of Jesus and this was the means by which we might be saved and God’s love expressed most fully.

Let us continue to say this special prayer every day this week in honour of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You! Immaculate Heart of Mary, be our refuge and protection!

O most holy Heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing,

I adore you, I love you and with a lively sorrow for my sins.
I offer you this poor heart of mine.
Make me humble, patient, pure, and wholly obedient to your will.
Grant, good Jesus, that I may live in you and for you.
Protect me in the midst of danger; comfort me in my afflictions;
give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs,
your blessings on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death.
Within your heart I place my every care.
In every need let me come to you with humble trust saying,
Heart of Jesus, help me.
Amen.

Month of June – Ordinary Time – The Angelus:

In honour of our Blessed Lady, we now continue to say the Angelus all through the year until next Easter.  This is a beautiful prayer which is traditionally said every day at 6am, 12noon and 6pm.

It helps us to remember that Jesus Our Lord was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit in Mary’s womb and this great news was given to Mary through the message of the Angel Gabriel to her.   Here is a link to this lovely prayer which honours the Son of God becoming human for us in His Incarnation from Our Catholic Prayers.

We are now in Ordinary Time- Summer:

The special colour is green and this reminds us of the springing up of new life and growth which we can see in creation and nature all around and we have received in our hearts, minds and souls because of the joy and victory of Easter and the promised Gift of the Holy Spirit which we have received.
