Good morning, everyone, hello and I hope you are all well today.

Welcome to our Spiritual Lift for Thursday. May you be inspired and encouraged as you read today.

Weekly Scripture Verse:

Our scripture verse for us to ponder and pray for this week comes from Psalm 100. (Ps 100:5) Our verses are taken from the CTS New Catholic Bible.  Let us give thanks to the Lord for the precious gift of His Word, the Bible.  May it guide and strengthen us in these days. Be encouraged and allow God to speak to you!

“Indeed, how good is the Lord, eternal His merciful love.  He is faithful from age to age.”

Today we remember and give thanks to God for the life and witness of two more Saints of the Church. Saint Hilary of Poitiers and Saint Kentigern Mungo.

Saint Hilary of Poitiers:

Here is some information about him.

Saint Kentigern (Mungo): Here is some information about him.  St Kentigern also known as Mungo lived as a hermit near Glasgow.  A very happy feast day today for all who are Scottish or who have Scottish ancestry and who come from Glasgow City or the Glasgow/Strathclyde area of Scotland. May the prayers of St Kentigern go with you today.

Month of January.

During the month of January, we focus on the Holy Childhood of Jesus and the Names and Titles of Jesus.

During this month we can offer special prayers to the Infant Jesus.  It is one of the mysteries of our faith that our powerful and eternal God chose to be born as a Man for us here on earth and Jesus was found in human form as a little baby who had to grow as the years went by, just as we do.

He became like us in all things except sin.  As an infant, Jesus was little, helpless and weak for He wanted to be with us as He is our Immanuel, God-With-Us.  Whatever we face today and going forward into this New Year, Jesus is with and walks beside us, sometimes carrying us gently in His loving arms when we are unable to stand.

Our prayer this month:

To the Divine Infant of Prague, Our Lord Jesus.  Please see the link below from www.catholic.org.
