St Bede’s Singers today visited Mrs Vale at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. Mrs Vale asked if the Singers could visit to sing carols for her and the other patients on her ward. They were all very pleased to see us and there were a few tears, from patients, staff and Singers!
We then moved down to the foyer at the hospital, singing our whole repertoire again for staff and visitors passing through – we were given a bucket by a member of staff and managed to raise some money for the QE charity.
On our way back, we decided to do a return visit to the Alexandra hospital, as we had promised and, again, performed our song list outside the café on the ground floor. After some much needed refreshments, provided by the lovely ladies in the café, it was time to head back to school.
