SVP Lenten Appeal

SVP Lenten Appeal:

This week, as we are now into the first week of the Holy Season of Lent, the wider family of the SVP are asking us to consider donating much needed personal care and toiletries items for those who are homeless on the streets locally, in Birmingham City centre and surrounding areas.  As part of the Lenten disciplines of Prayer, Fasting and Charitable giving, may we be encouraged to consider buying an extra item of personal care and toiletry items which will be given out to those members of our communities who receive support from the fortnightly Soup Kitchen.  The SVP are hoping for extra donations of the following items:

  • Deodorants and roll-ons
  • Sanitary items – towels, tampons etcetera
  • Baby wipes and moist tissues
  • Soap and flannel
  • Dry shampoo
  • Toothpaste and toothbrushes

Donations of toiletries which will be used to practically benefit those in most need locally over the next few months are welcome.  If anyone would like to help out with this vital outreach by helping to provide these items please bring these to:

  • School and leave items at Reception for the attention of Miss Downes or
  • Leave in her office in Room 8 or
  • Take them up to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish Office marked with SVP Outreach Toiletries Donation.

May the Lord bless you richly for your kindness and generosity.  Live Lent and make a big difference to those who are in most need. “Whatever you did for the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did it for Me.” Jesus. Matthew 25:40
