6/7th Week of Ordinary Time 2020

Living like Jesus, loving like Jesus.

We stand on the threshold of another Lenten season.  Lent brings our focus sharply back to the Love of God who gave His Only Son to us (John 3:16) shown most supremely at Calvary where Jesus died on the Cross to bring us back into relationship with Him and our Loving Heavenly Father.

His prayer was for us as well as those who killed Him that day; “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” Luke 23:34.

As we approach the Holy Season of Lent, let us examine our hearts and ask the Lord in His love to help us to live as He does and in His power to love as He loves.  We shall show this through our prayer, fasting and charitable giving.

Loving Father,

We thank You for Your Beloved Son Jesus,

Who showed us the way to live and to love.

By the Power of Your Holy Spirit,

may we be able to freely forgive those who hurt us

and in so doing, may we, in Your Love,

set them and ourselves free,

to live and to love as You have called us to.

In the Name of Christ, we pray.  Amen
