Congratulations to St Bede’s Robotics Club who, on Tuesday, became the West Midlands Regional Champions in Robotic Design at the Tomorrow’s Engineers Robotics Challenge. St Bede’s achieved a place in the Regional Finals through the hard work of the club that meets every Friday lunchtime. 10 pupils were selected to represent the school and visited Warwick Trident College where the Regional Finals were held. The competition was split into 4 parts, with an overall winner going through to represent the West Midlands at the Big Bang Fair 11-14 March 2020 at the NEC in Birmingham. Theo, Roger and Maya were noticeable contributors to the Robotics Design and Teamwork element, with Maisie, Christa, Katie and Maria leading the way with the presentation aspect. Although St Bede’s were not the overall winners, we did take first place for Robotics Design and we are very proud of our achievement and looking forward to next year’s Robotics Challenge.

We would like to thank all the sponsors for an excellent day. Pupils had the opportunities to work with, and be judged by, experts from Raising Robots, Helsington Foundation, EngineeringUK, Royal Air Force, Network Rail, Rolls Royce and Warwick Trident College.

Congratulations St Bede’s- what a team!
