I hope you are all safe and well especially at this particularly busy time for you all.
Please do keep visiting the two new webpages as they are being updated regularly. Many thanks to those who are contributing to them. The sharing of ideas and resources is inspiring others as well as helping to strengthen the community spirit so strong in our Diocesan schools.

Virtual Lourdes Pilgrimage: The Annual Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes takes place next week. Thanks to all those schools who have contributed to this. You can find out more here https://www.birminghamdiocese.org.uk/lourdes-pilgrimage
A message from Kenelm Youth Trust: We are working on a few fun initiatives for the following week including some input for the virtual Lourdes pilgrimage on the Wednesday. The diocese will release the programme for this but the Youth Mass will be live streamed from Alton and we will be participating in the concert in the evening with Jo Boyce and Dan Callow.
We are offering to support schools in running youth Alpha online. This initiative has been shared with the Chaplains but might be a good thing to be shared with all secondary schools as not all have a Chaplain. We are ready to run with this from next week and can support schools with training and planning. The team here would help lead discussions and can support with tech where needed, although many secondary schools are running their lessons live online so would be well set up to run this! If anyone wants to get involved they should email me: firstname.lastname@example.org
We have applied for some funding to do a video project sharing the voice of young people during this time. We should hear back soon and I will share more details then. The idea is we would produce a series of video’s themed around mental health, family life, etc and create supporting resources around each theme. So please keep this project in your prayers.
The following video was created by the team here based on a prayer written by Fr Tim. We hope you love it as much as we do. I would be so grateful if you could share it far and wide! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kq9ytiaGSA
I do hope that you are all able to take some time for some well-deserved rest and relaxation next week.
Please be assured that we at the DES continue to pray for each and every one of you
and all the members of your school communities at 12:00 each day.
