Hello everyone, hope you are well today, and your week is going well for you so far.

Here is our Weekly Spiritual Lift for your blessing and encouragement this week. As we read through our reflections for this week, may the Lord in His love bless and guide us as we walk confidently in His grace and blessings.

Welcome to our Spiritual Lift for 21st June 2022 and the rest of the Week ahead. May it bless and encourage you in your walk with the Lord this week.

Month of June: Sacred Heart of Jesus.

We continue our journey through June as we remember that June is traditionally dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Sacred Heart symbolism:

This Divine Heart, full of love and mercy, is the ultimate expression of God’s love for all people.

Jesus’ Heart is represented with His Heart pierced, as it was when He died on the cross, the soldier used his spear to check that Jesus had died.

It is surrounded by a Crown of Thorns which reminds us of Jesus’ suffering and death and our wrongdoing which wounds the Heart of God when we choose to go our own ways rather than God’s.

It has burning flames coming from it which reminds us that God’s Heart burns with deepest, tenderest love for every person and it also the fire of His Holy Spirit.

At the top of the Heart, there is a Cross, which reminds us that the cross is at the heart of Jesus and this was the means by which we might be saved and God’s love expressed most fully.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus we place all our trust in You!

Our Prayer to Jesus this week:

Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus attributed to St Margaret Mary Alacoque:

Heart of Jesus, save me.

Heart of my Creator, perfect me.

Heart of my Saviour, deliver me.

Heart of my Judge forgive me.

heart of my Father, govern me.

heart of my Spouse, love me.

heart of my Master, teach me.

Heart of my King, crown me.

Heart of my Benefactor enrich me.

heart of my Pastor, defend me.

Heart of my Friend, embrace me.

Heart of my Infant Jesus, draw me.

Heart of Jesus dying on the Cross, pray for me.

Heart of Jesus, great in all Your states, please give Yourself to me.

Let me, my Lord, give all myself to You.

O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You! Amen.

Weekly Scripture Verse: For the 12th Week in Ordinary Time (Summer)

Our scripture verse for us to ponder and pray this week comes from Saint Luke’s Gospel. (Luke 9:6) These verses are taken from the CTS New Catholic Bible Edition. Let us give thanks to the Lord for the precious gift of His Word, the Bible.  May it guide and strengthen us in these days. Be encouraged!

“So they (the Twelve Apostles) set out and went from village to village proclaiming the Good News and healing everywhere.”

Prayer. O God, our past and future hope, to you a thousand years are like yesterday, come and gone. Teach us to see the world through your eyes, to recognise the faults of the past, and, however dimly, to see the future with hope. Let us seek out the places of hurt where we can offer your love and compassion. Find the places of darkness and despair where your mercy can bring light and comfort.
