Yesterday saw a selection of girls from Year 5 compete against other school’s in a District 7-a-side Football Tournament. Up first was Woodfield who, after a competitively even game, scored an equaliser in the dying minutes to make the final score 2-2. Up next was Walkwood, who were just as competitive. After a tightly contested game, it was us who broke the deadlock, finishing the game at 1-0. Their final game was against Ipsely school, who were also having a very successful start to the tournament. Ipsley took the spoils in this game and were the deserved tournament winners.
This meant that St Bede’s came second overall which is a fantastic achievement for all involved. Most importantly, the weather didn’t get anybody down and every team member didn’t give up in every game.
Brilliant effort and results!
