We knew it wouldn’t be easy, and we prepared for a tough challenge, but St Bede’s certainly upped their game for the District Finals last night.

A fighting start against our biggest rivals Birchensale led to a 3-3 draw. Not the highest scoring game but hugely competitive and set us up with the chance we needed to finish in top place. We played Churchill and Walkwood respectively and neither could match our momentum and hunger to win. With Birchensale also winning their two games, the final result was left up to our old faithful, Goal Difference! This, unfortunately, was not on our side, being pushed into 2nd place by a 4-goal difference.

Nevertheless, this should not take away from the teams commitment and relentless determination to improve and get better. They have had a fabulous final 2 years as a group, training hard and showing an exemplary attitude to their performances.

Wishing them every success in their netball careers in the future!
