The Year 8 Girls started the year in fine style by winning the District Tournament at Woodfield.

Placed in a group with Walkwood and Birchensale, all three schools played out incredibly close games but it was St Bede’s and Walkwood that went through.

Goals from Maya G and Molly C put us through to play a strong Woodfield team in the semi-finals.

The girls worked collectively throughout and created lots of chances and both Maya G and Delilah N managed to score to win the game 2-0.

The final saw St Bede’s take on Walkwood ‘A’ who they previously played in the group stage (1-1) and this time St Bede’s were comfortable and went on to win 1-0 courtesy of a goal from Delilah N.

Mr Sanders was impressed with the effort and the teamwork throughout, and the girls listened well to adapt to each game.

They will now go on to play in the ESFA National Cup and Worcestershire County Cup respectively.
