Homework

Homework will be set in English, Maths and RE in Key Stage 2 on nights set out by the individual tutor groups homework timetable. These timetables will be sent out to parents via Epraise, communicated to pupils in form time and can be found below on the links

In Key Stage 3, pupils will be expected to engage with more homework in preparation for high school and GCSE syllabuses. They will be expected to complete homework in English, Maths, RE, French, Geography, History and Science. This will be set weekly, and pupils will be given a week to complete the tasks.

** In subjects that are not on the homework timetable, teachers may identify key areas of the curriculum where homework would significantly enhance the pupils understanding or challenge a misconception, specific homework may be set, again with a weekly time constraint.**

Homework will be recorded on Epraise so that both parents and children will be able to see what tasks have been set, as well as verbal communication in the lessons to inform pupils of what their homework is.

We expect pupils to read for a minimum of 20 minutes per evening. Spelling homework will be given out on a weekly basis.

The Virtual Curriculum is one of the primary vehicles for pupils to complete their homework. The options the pupils have and access to the resources can be found HERE.

The Virtual Curriculum was designed on the back of COVID-19 and the success we had as a school with online learning. We have created a curriculum that encages pupils in learning, through units that are separate from the national curriculum followed in school, whilst some offer extension opportunities for our traditional curriculum. This is linked to careers and offering our pupils insights in to the world of work.

It is expected that pupils will complete a minimum of one unit per term.
